Jacht Agency is still accepting applications for the Fall 2022 semester. Jacht Agency is a full-service, student-run advertising and public relations agency that provides students with experience working in a collaborative environment and with a wide range of clients. Jacht offers opportunities to students of all majors across UNL’s campus to sharpen their skills in strategic campaign development and gain confidence in careers post-graduation.

The Omaha World-Herald will be conducting interviews for fall 2022 fellows on March 9, 2022 in 138 Andersen Hall. Fellows will work for 20 hours per week in the OWH Lincoln Bureau during the fall 2022 semester.

Huskers to compete in 2022 Perry Photojournalism Challenge

Eight students selected for CoJMC's first student editorial board

Eight students at the UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications were recently selected to launch the first-ever CoJMC Student Editorial Board. The board will oversee and manage the Nebraska News Service, Nebraska Nightly, UNLimited Sports and KRNU websites and the distribution of student-created content through social media and other distribution platforms.

Students win 11 awards at 2022 Nebraska Advertising Awards

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications had a strong presence at the 2022 Nebraska Advertising Awards on Feb. 18. Students at the CoJMC brought home eight silver and two gold and the best in show under the student category.

Sports media and communication students and faculty to travel to Spain this summer

After a few years on hiatus due to the pandemic, students in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications will travel to Spain this summer to learn more about global sports, media and entertainment. For nearly three weeks CoJMC students will travel throughout Spain in participation of a 3-credit class led by sports media and communication associate professor, John Shrader. Shrader is familiar with the trip as he has previously taken students to Spain for similar study abroad trips.

Hearst Award

Huskers take first and 15th in the Hearst Audio Competition

Two Huskers placed in the national Hearst Journalism Awards Audio Competition on Feb. 9, 2022. Chase Porter, who graduated in May 2021 with degrees in broadcasting and philosophy, took first place. Ethan Petrik, a senior sports media and communication and broadcasting double major, placed 15th.
