Current Student Resources

Meeting with your advisor should be on your to-do list each and every semester. Your advisor can ensure that you stay on track for graduation if you regularly meet with her to discuss your plans, interests and goals. Schedule an appointment in MyPLAN or come in during Walk-in Wednesdays. They are are happy to help you! Visit the advising page for more information and helpful resources.

Education Abroad

Add an awesome chapter to your story by traveling with your classmates and teachers to places like Asia, Europe or Africa. The college offers at least one study abroad class every May plus special photojournalism trips twice a year. You can earn credit while you experience a different culture and have a chance to practice the skills you’re learning at CoJMC. Or you can study abroad through one of University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s other programs.

Internships and Careers

Employers like to hire CoJMC grads because they know you can hit the ground running. Everything you learn in your classes prepares you for that, and an internship or two takes you to a way higher level. We help you learn how to polish up your resume and cover letter, how to create an impressive portfolio of your work and how to get in touch with potential employers.

Every week, you’ll get an email telling you about job and internship openings. Faculty will often nudge you toward a particular opportunity. And each fall you can attend an intern night and get even more advice. Current jobs and internships are also posted through Handshake, LinkedIn, and the CoJMC Newsletter.
