The College of Journalism and Mass Communications Class of 2024 will soon embark on diverse and promising paths. Here are some of their stories, highlighting the transformative experiences and professional milestones that have defined their time at Nebraska and will propel them into the future.

Advertising and public relations class of 2024 graduate Jeannine Akamba had a number of transformational experiences during her four years at the CoJMC. From attending a national conference to making professional connections and gaining an internship opportunity, Akamba was so impacted by her time at Nebraska that she's staying another couple of years to further her education in international relations.

After graduating from the CoJMC, LeAnne Bugay is looking forward to learning about the rest of the world and sharing her Nebraskan identity with others. She'll move to New York City this summer to start her dream job as an assistant account executive at Resnicow and Associates, an arts and culture-focused public relations agency.

While at Nebraska, Connor Clark of Lake Bluff, Illinois, immersed himself in various hands-on experiences to further his learning in broadcasting and sports media. This summer, he'll start his first post-grad role as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Lincoln Saltdogs baseball team.

For recent graduate Bella Galindo, her time as a lead graphic designer at Jacht Agency was crucial to her professional growth and college experience. At Jacht, she worked with real-world clients, further developed her leadership and technical skills and even attended the Adobe Max Conference in Los Angeles.

Working with different-minded people in CoJMC programs like Buoy, Jacht and the National Student Advertising Competition team motivated graduating senior Luka Ivkovic to heighten his self-awareness and listening skills. Luka credits his peers who challenged and grew with him for shaping who he is and inspiring his drive going forward.

After graduating from the CoJMC, senior journalism major Marissa Kraus of Columbia, Missouri will move to Los Angeles, California to start her first post-grad role as a sports reporting intern with the LA Times. Read more about Marissa and her college experiences below!

At Nebraska, Naren Narasimhan double majored in CoJMC's sports media and communications and marketing at Nebraska Business. After graduation, he'll use the skills he's learned from both undergraduate degrees while pursuing a master's in sports management at Columbia University.

For broadcasting graduate Kai Xing Toon, graduating from Nebraska isn't just about getting a degree. As she celebrates this milestone, she reflects on the friendships, memories and growth she experienced through her college involvements in the Business International Student Organization and the Malaysia Student Association, as well as in the classroom, as a videographer at Jacht Agency and on the production crew for Nebraska Nightly.
