CoJMC brings home SPJ and Sevareid journalism awards

The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) has recognized the best college journalism students in Region 7 with 2017 Mark of Excellence (MOE) Awards. The awards ceremony was held in Ames, Iowa, on April 14.

CoJMC to host panel on North Korea

NSAC team

NSAC team wins 2nd at District 9 competition

The National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) team from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln won second place in the American Advertising Federation District 9 regional competition in Kansas City on April 13. The team, representing the University's College of Journalism and Mass Communications, won second place.

SAB hosts diversity panel

The College of Journalism and Mass Communications Student Advisory Board hosted a diversity panel Wednesday, April 11. The panel included Charlie Foster, director of the Gaughan Multicultural Center and assistant vice chancellor for Student Affairs, Bryan Wang, assistant CoJMC professor, and Joe Starita, CoJMC professor.

CoJMC students to be inducted in honor societies April 26

Twenty-one CoJMC students will be inducted into the Alpha Delta Sigma and Kappa Tau Alpha honor societies on April 26 in Andersen Hall, Room 15 at 3:30 p.m. Nine students will be inducted into Alpha Delta Sigma, while 12 will be inducted into Kappa Tau Alpha.

Students, faculty at CoJMC to share in $20,000 in awards from the Omaha Press Club Foundation

Powell receives national award

Karley Powell, a senior in the College of Journalism and Mass Communication, received the 2018 Ruth Edelman Public Relations Student Society of America Award. Her award includes a $1,500 prize and a three-month paid internship at the Edelman office in New York City.
