"I am thrilled to join the Academic Advising team at UNL,” Killen said. “Education has long been a passion of mine, and I am excited to assist students in their education at UNL.

As an academic advisor, she will assist students in course selection, career planning and navigating their educational paths to ensure they achieve their academic goals.

"Vannessa's dedication to student success and her diverse background in education will be invaluable assets to our college,” said Alisa Smith, director of advising. “Her enthusiasm and commitment will greatly benefit our students."

Outside of her professional life, Killen enjoys spending time with her husband, Riley and their cat, Abby. She is an avid fan of board games and musical theatre, and she loves ballroom dancing, game nights, reading and composing music.

Killen’s office will be located at 107 Andersen Hall.
