Huskers earn seven awards in the National Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competition

On March 31, College of Journalism and Mass Communications students took home seven awards in the National Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competition. The competition was held during the annual National Broadcasting Society convention.

A second Checkout Room opens in the Agency

The College of Journalism and Mass Communications opened a second checkout room in the Agency last week to serve current college majors. The new Checkout Room is located on the third floor of the Lincoln Children’s Museum.

Spring Checkout Room Updates

The CoJMC Checkout Rooms have updated their hours for the rest of the spring 2022 semester. Menus are now available for checkout room equipment. You will be asked to complete your order by marking on the menus before approaching the checkout room window. You will hand your completed card to the attendant, who will gather your items and complete the transaction.

SPJ Chapter Informational Meeting on April 6

College of Journalism and Mass Communications students are starting a Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Chapter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. An informational meeting for the chapter will be on April 6 from 4 to 5 p.m. in Andersen Hall Room 336 and is open to all broadcasting, sports media and journalism majors.

Barmore and Barr place in Hearst Competitions

Abby Barmore placed fourth in the Hearst Journalism Awards Sports Writing Competition for her story, “If you can see it, you can be it: How Volleyball in Nebraska created a cycle of greatness.” Damon Barr placed seventeenth in the Hearst Multimedia III Competition for his entry, "Nebraska bill seeks to raise minimum wage to $20."
