The College of Journalism and Mass Communications welcomes two new faculty to the team this fall. Joining us are Associate Professor of Sport Promotion, Betsy Emmons and Assistant Professor of Practice in Journalism, Leslie Klein.

Urich visits campus as the Worick Visiting Professor in Market Research

Jennifer Urich, CEO and co-founder of Sparrow Strategy, was this year’s Worick Visiting Professor in Market Research at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Urich was on campus from Feb. 27 to March 11 and visited numerous classes, sharing her strategic expertise.

Jacht Agency collaborates with student ad agencies across country to deliver annual workshop Jachtventure

Jacht Agency announces its first annual outreach event, Jachtventure. What started as a discussion about student agencies in Nebraska blossomed into a bigger conversation about all student advertising firms across the country. From this, the idea of Jachtventure was born.

Apply for the Sharon Begley Science Reporting Fellowship

The Sharon Begley Science Reporting Fellowship was launched in 2021 with the goal of diversifying the ranks of science and health journalists and fostering better coverage of science that is relevant to all people. It is a year-long $75k (with health benefits) reporting fellowship for early-career journalists.

Holly Hanau

Alumni Spotlight: Holly Hanau

Holly Hanau graduated from CoJMC in May 2019. A few months later, she moved to Madrid, Spain and taught English in a primary school as a North American Language and Culture Assistant. In February 2020, Holly launched her freelance copywriting career while working as an au pair and traveling around Europe. In May 2021, she joined the Berlin Boss Babes team (a female empowerment group) as their community and events manager. Today Holly's an account manager for an affiliate marketing agency and works remotely in France. She just launched a travel blog called Alta Adventures to share her experiences living abroad so that others can do the same. Follow Holly's adventures on her blog or her Instagram.
