UNL Documentary "Running Towards the Fire" Wins Grand Prize at Marina del Ray Film Festival

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln proudly announces that "Running Towards the Fire – A War Correspondent's Story" was awarded the Grand Prize for best TV documentary at the Marina del Ray Film Festival on June 27. Gilbert and Martha Hitchcock Professor of Journalism Barney McCoy directed the film.

Huskers receive awards at the Nebraska Medallion Banquet

Three College of Journalism and Mass Communications students were honored with scholarship awards at the Nebraska Medallion Dinner on March 24 hosted at the Wick Alumni Center. Each year, the Nebraska Alumni Association recognizes accomplished alumni, promising students and a retired faculty member at a variety of awards programs and events such as the Nebraska Medallion Dinner. The award winners are chosen by a selection committee of alumni from across the country.

UNL’s 2023 National Student Advertising Competition team

Nebraska’s National Student Advertising Competition team awarded second place at districts

UNL’s National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) team placed second at the American Advertising Federation’s District 9 competition, held in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 22. This year’s eight competing teams came from colleges and universities in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri.

New ambassador class announced for the 2023-2024 school year

UNL’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications announced the newest class of student ambassadors. The team, led by Alex Fernando, CoJMC’s assistant director of recruitment, welcomed three students to the team in January and four students in April.
