For broadcasting graduate Kai Xing Toon, graduating from Nebraska isn't just about getting a degree. As she celebrates this milestone, she reflects on the friendships, memories and growth she experienced through her college involvements in the Business International Student Organization and the Malaysia Student Association, as well as in the classroom, as a videographer at Jacht Agency and on the production crew for Nebraska Nightly.

Journalism students attend SPJ MediaFest conference

Thanks to a generous donation from the Deepe family, the UNL chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists was able to take 18 members to MediaFest in D.C. MediaFest was hosted by the Society of Professional Journalists, but also invited members from the Associated Collegiate Press and the College Media Association.

Journalism students partnered with a new social media research program to enhance their election coverage on Nov. 8. Based in the UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications, the Public Insight Lab conducts social media research with collaborators across campuses and the community to identify significant insights that inform action.
