Senior Connor Clark of Lake Bluff, Illinois will graduate from the CoJMC this May. This summer he'll start his first post-grad role as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Lincoln Saltdogs baseball team.

The Nail-Biter That Wasn’t: Nebraska Press Association v. Stuart

You may be tired of hearing about Donald Trump’s criminal indictments but imagine how angry people would be if they could know nothing of the prosecutions. That the public knows so much of the evidence is in no small part because of a 1976 Supreme Court decision called Nebraska Press Association v. Stuart. The decision arose from a 1975 murder case.

Lavigne awarded 2023 Dan Jenkins Medal for Best Sportswriting

CoJMC alumna Paula Lavigne was named one of three winners of the seventh annual Dan Jenkins Medal for Excellence in Sportswriting. Lavigne and Tom Junod won the 2023 Jenkins Medal for Best Sportswriting for their ESPN article "Untold." They'll be honored at the Jenkins Medal award ceremony in Austin on October 13.

Alum Melanie Gentrup works behind the scenes for Volleyball Day

Melanie Gentrup has been a Husker fan since birth. Now the Husker alum is an assistant live events producer with HuskerVision where she gets to showcase the teams she grew up loving. Her work was recently on display for a world-record-breaking 92,003 fans in Memorial Stadium (and hundreds of thousands watching from across the country and world) for Volleyball Day in Nebraska. She takes us behind the scenes.

Armstrong selected to participate in Big Ten leadership program, named Nebraska ALP-Mellon Fellow

The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor has announced its annual selection of faculty who will attend two Big Ten Academic Alliance leadership programs this year. Cory Armstrong, the Lawrence L. and Ruth E. Pike professor in journalism and associate dean for research and faculty affairs at the CoJMC, is one of the six faculty selected to participate in the Academic Leadership Program.

The CoJMC will welcome Adrian Whitsett, a 2008 bachelor's of journalism and bachelor's of philosophy graduate, as one of UNL's Distinguished Alumni at the Multicultural Homecoming events Oct. 26 - Oct. 28. Multicultural Homecoming is hosted by the Chancellor's Commission on the Status of People of Color, the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center and the Nebraska Alumni Association.
