Leadership Lincoln works with CoJMC students to launch new brand image

Leadership Lincoln launched a new brand image this fall designed by CoJMC students. The nonprofit organization partnered with Kelli Britten’s spring 2017 ad campaigns class. The class worked with Leadership Lincoln to research and design a new brand strategy for the organization.

Attend the "Black Jack Pershing: Love and War" screening

The broadcast premiere of “Black Jack Pershing: Love and War” coincides with this year’s 99th anniversary of World War I’s armistice.

The documentary, produced and directed by Professor Barney McCoy of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications, tells the story of General John J. Pershing, commander of the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I and the only active duty six-star general in U.S. history.

CoJMC alums lead Lincoln Rotary Club

One College of Journalism and Mass Communications alum has followed another as leader of  the downtown Lincoln Rotary Club.

 Jennifer Brinkman, a 1993 broadcasting alumna and 2017-2018 club president, follows Mark Stephens, a 1983 advertising alumnus and the previous year’s president who was awarded outstanding club president at the Rotary District Conference this past August.

Students win SCBS awards

Three students from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications won grand prizes at the South Central Broadcasting Society award ceremony last week in Texas. The SCBS is a chapter of the National Broadcasting Society.

Fobair wins McCaffrey Emerging Media Scholarship

Anna Fobair has been selected as the recipient of the 2017 McCaffrey Emerging Media Scholarship. The scholarship will allow Fobair to complete her senior year without having to worry about tuition.

Two students win Best in Show at the SPJ Mark of Excellence Awards

Two College of Journalism and Mass Communications students were recently awarded Best in Show at the Society of Professional Journalists’ Mark of Excellence (MOEy) Awards. Marcella Mercer and Calla Kessler, senior journalism majors, received the award for their story, “A Mom for All ages: Hours from Whiteclay Caring for Kids with Fetal Alcohol Disorders.”
