Natalie Becerra

Career Development Specialist

Natalie graduated from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications in December 2019 with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations. As a student she held various on-campus jobs in the Office of Admissions, Learning Communities, Visitor’s Center, and CoJMC. She was also an Account Services Intern at Swanson Russell where she worked on the largest account at the agency, Propane Education, and Research Council (PERC). After graduating from CoJMC, she went on to be an Account Executive at Pixel Bakery and Brand Manager at Agent where she put her advertising knowledge into action managing accounts, maintaining client relationships, tracking projects from start to finish, and monitoring project budgets.

Natalie found her way back to UNL when she accepted a role as the Recruiter for the College of Arts and Sciences. In this role she was reminded of her passion for helping students find their path and develop valuable professional and life skills when she worked with prospective students and oversaw the 60+ CAS Ambassadors.

Natalie is currently the Career Development Specialist for CoJMC and looks forward to blending her background in advertising and mass communications with higher education to help CoJMC students develop professional skills and gain valuable experiences in college to help lead to great jobs and fulfilling careers after graduation.

In her free time, Natalie loves to dedicate her time volunteering with Launch Leadership, a local nonprofit that helps middle and high school students develop leadership skills through hands-on, experiential learning activities. She has held leadership roles within the organization such as the Recognition Chair, SLW Programming Coordinator, New Staff Trainer, and Curriculum Writer/Editor.
