Fourteen Huskers have been selected as Matousek Scholars for UNL’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications spring 2024 Experience Lab. The experiential learning program allows students to gain hands-on experience from day one of their college journey. Matousek Scholars serve as the student leaders of Experience Lab and coordinate day-to-day operations under faculty guidance.
Nearly 360 students are participating in the spring 2024 Experience Lab, making this semester the highest enrollment yet. Students work with faculty and professional mentors to build their academic skill sets while exploring their career interests in one of the college’s media outlets: Buoy, Heartland Pulse, 90.3 KRNU, Nebraska News Service, Nebraska Nightly, Production House and UNLimited Sports. Through these unique programs, students create content and manage projects for community organizations as well as news outlets and other media platforms.
