Three students in the CoJMC were chosen as Clifton Strengths Institute coaches for the 2023-2024 academic year. They will join 35 undergraduate students from 14 different majors across campus, along with the returning coaches, to mentor about 1,000 students enrolled in a College of Business class, Professional Enhancement I: Investing in Strengths.

The student coaches are Carter Bautch, a junior advertising and public relations major from Omaha, Hannah Fjeldheim, a sophomore advertising and public relations, and business administration double major from Grand Island and Hannah-Kate Kinney, a junior advertising and public relations, broadcasting and journalism triple major from Omaha.

Kinney plans to use her experiences on campus for the betterment of her peers at Nebraska.

“Nebraska has afforded me so many opportunities for which I am eternally grateful,” Kinney said. “I hope that I can inspire students to take advantage of all the university has to offer. I want to light a fire within my students that they can do absolutely anything to which they put their minds. If I can be the first spark that lights their journey onto future leadership positions, I know I will have done my job effectively.”

The Clifton Strengths Institute helps students stretch their strengths through professional and leadership development using the application of strengths-based sciences. Students identify and maximize their talents to help Nebraska, the nation and the world develop economic growth and prosperity.
