We would like to express our gratitude to all who participated in the 2023 Climate Survey. We received responses from 80 out of 199 active employees, resulting in a 40% response rate. The survey was distributed to all full and part-time employees, including faculty, staff, student workers, and graduate assistants. This marks the second time the college has administered a climate survey, which asked respondents to rate their level of agreement with 17 aspects of the college's climate.

2023 Climate Survey Results
The survey results were predominantly positive, with most employees expressing satisfaction with all aspects of the college's climate. Specifically, the survey revealed that employees are well-informed about how their work impacts the success of the college and feel a sense of pride in being associated with the college and university. All respondents agreed with these statements.
However, the survey also identified areas where we need to improve. In particular, the survey showed that we need to place more emphasis on creating an inclusive environment where all employees feel valued and engaged in their work. The following statements received the lowest proportion of agreement among respondents:

Changes since 2022
By comparing the results of the 2023 climate survey to those of the previous year, we can identify areas where we have made improvements. We are pleased to report that the college has made progress in 14 aspects of our climate.
Notably, the following areas demonstrated the greatest improvement:

I believe my opinions and perspectives are represented in decisions made. In 2022, 80.95% of respondents agreed with this statement, improving to 93.75% in 2023.

People here are open to trying new and different ways of addressing our college's challenges. In 2022, 79.37% of respondents agreed, improving to 90% in 2023.

The college promotes an environment of physical, mental, and social well-being. In 2022, 84.12% of respondents agreed, improving to 92.5% in 2023.
However, there were also areas where we saw a decline in agreement among respondents. We need to work harder to address these concerns:

Employees in the college are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their position or background. In 2022, 88.89% agreed, dropping to 88.75% in 2023.

I am satisfied with my involvement in decisions that affect my work. In 2022, 90.48% of respondents agreed, dropping to 88.75% in 2023.
