Nine students named to All-Academic Big Ten Team

The Big Ten named nine University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications students to the 2023 Fall Academic All-Big Ten Team on Dec. 11, 2023.   

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team (as verified by being on the official squad list as of Nov. 1 for fall sports), have been enrolled full-time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. 

The All-Big Ten team members are listed alphabetically by hometown. The list includes their year, major and sport.   

Nebraska 

  • Elkhorn: Teddy Prochazka, junior, sports media & communication, football 
  • Firth: Maisie Boesiger, sophomore, advertising & public relations, volleyball 

Elsewhere 

  • Sterling, Illinois: Lexi Rodriguez, junior, advertising & public relations, volleyball 
  • Treynor: Iowa: Jerry Jorgenson, senior, advertising & public relations and marketing, cross country 
  • Minneapolis, Minnesota: Emmett Johnson, sophomore, advertising & public relations, football 
  • East Orange, New Jersey: Justin Evans-Jenkins, sophomore, advertising & public relations, football 
  • Argyle, Texas: Sami Hauk, senior, sports media & communication, soccer 
  • Montreal, Canada: Barron Miles Jr., senior, sports media & communication, football 
  • Heidelberg, Germany: Nicola Hauk, senior, sports media & communication, soccer
