The College of Journalism and Mass Communication’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee invited Briana Aldridge, a recent grad of our Masters’ program, to headline our Multicultural Homecoming Event. Aldridge shared her thesis The challenges Black women face breaking into the sports broadcasting industry over Zoom on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

The recording of the session is below:

Briana Aldridge is from a small town in California, but exploring all the East Coast has to offer. With an inviting smile that’s hard to miss, she has spent two years as producer, reporter, full-time morning anchor at WTAP News in Parkersburg. Gaining experience in a small town has allowed her to interview legendary coaches, professional athletes, and former contestants of Miss America Pageants. Being a former dual-sport athlete at the collegiate level, has enticed her to accept an offer as a sports/news reporter in Lafayette, Louisiana. Briana is looking forward to getting back on the field keeping the fans updated in the world of sports.
