Two University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications graduates, Evan Bland and Stu Pospisil, were named Nebraska’s 2022 Sportswriters of the year, respectively, by the National Sports Media Association.
Bland, a 2008 broadcasting and journalism graduate, is a sportswriter for the Omaha World-Herald where he’s covered Husker football and baseball for the last 13 years.
Pospisil is a journalism graduate who has worked at the Omaha World-Herald since graduating in 1984. He’s the lead writer for high school sports and golf and will celebrate 40 years at the World-Herald this year.
The NSMA will honor its winners and Hall of Fame inductees during the organization’s 63rd awards weekend and national convention, scheduled for June 24-26, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
