Huskers win National Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competition awards

Students at UNL’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications won nine awards at the National Electronic Media Association’s National Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competition, seven projects won their category and two were awarded honorable mentions.

The National Electronic Media Association enhances the development of college students preparing for careers in electronic media industries. The organization connects students with practicing professionals, emphasizes industry ethics, diversity and inclusiveness and promotes opportunities for excellence in leadership, community service and production.

A five-person multimedia team earned an honorable mention in the Instructional Video category for “How to Use iTrace.” The students worked with Dr. Bonita Sharif, an associate professor in the School of Computing at UNL, and her team at iTrace to create a tutorial on how they conduct eye-tracking studies. Team members are listed alphabetically by hometown, with their year in school and major(s).
