The award was presented for the story “Battle of the Joshes: How an internet meme raised more than $13,000 for the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center,” published on the Nebraska News Service on May 1, 2021.

“It’s a fantastic example of what our students can do. They pitched the story, worked as a team to cover it and ultimately produced some great work on a tight deadline,” said Kaci Richter, CoJMC assistant professor of practice and communication design coordinator. “I’m so proud of Chase and Kateri (Hartman) for this story, the national recognition is well-deserved.”
