What does graduating from Nebraska mean to you?

Graduating from Nebraska would be my biggest dream coming through.
It would show that all the hard work, dedication, and perseverance I've put in over the years has paid off and brought me closer to achieving my dreams. Studying abroad has always been a dream of mine, and I feel that earning a degree from UNL would not only give me a great career boost but also broaden my understanding of the world and its diverse cultures. It hasn't been easy getting to this point, though. As an international student, I've faced many challenges such as mental health, cultural differences, and financial struggles. Despite all of this, I've managed to push through and stay motivated to succeed.

Despite the difficulties, I've also had many achievements during my time in Nebraska. I've improved my journalism skills, learned from experienced professors and industry professionals, and made connections with like-minded people who share my love for storytelling and communication.
All in all, graduating from Nebraska would mean everything to me. It would prove that my hard work and dedication have paid off and fulfilled my lifelong dream. I'm proud of everything I've accomplished so far and excited to continue my journey as a journalist, wherever it may take me.

Think about the transfromational moments you've experienced while in college, how did they help shape who you are or what you will do going forward?

My time at the University of Nebraska has been nothing short of a whirlwind of emotions, filled with moments that have transformed me, shaped who I am and what I want to do going forward. From the very first day I set foot on campus, I knew that my life was about to change forever. It may seem silly to some, but my dream was finally becoming a reality, and I was on the brink of embarking on a long and exciting journey. One of the most significant factors that have contributed to my growth and success at the university is the exceptional professors who have gone above and beyond to help me achieve my goals. Not only were they knowledgeable, but they also had a genuine connection with their students. The J school professors have been instrumental in my development, providing invaluable mentorship that has helped me navigate the challenges of college.

My journey at the university has not been without its fair share of difficulties, especially in the COVID-19 pandemic when I faced financial and mental health challenges. However, I am grateful for the unwavering support of my friends and the guidance of my academic advisor, Anne McConkey, who has been my rock throughout my time at the university. Her encouragement, advice, and unwavering support have been the pillars of my success, and I cannot thank her enough for being there for me every step of the way. My time at the University of Nebraska has taught me many valuable lessons that will stay with me for a lifetime. I have learned to dream big, to persevere through challenges, to celebrate accomplishments and never give up. These lessons have empowered me and prepared me for my journey ahead as I pursue my career in journalism. As I finish my journey at UNL, I am filled with a sense of nostalgia, gratitude, and excitement. My time here has been transformative and empowering, and I will carry these experiences with me wherever I go. The University of Nebraska will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will forever be grateful for the incredible journey that has brought me to where I am today. I'm a forever Husker.

What are you most looking forward to after graduation?

After graduation, I am most looking forward to putting all that I have learned into action and pursuing my dreams with passion and dedication! I am eager to take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, knowing that my time at the University of Nebraska has prepared me well for whatever may come my way.

What's the best thing about being a husker?

The best thing about being a Husker is the sense of belonging that comes with being part of a family that stretches far beyond the confines of the university. There is a special bond that unites us all, a bond forged through a shared passion for excellence and a commitment to supporting one another through thick and thin.

From the moment I first set foot on campus, I was struck by the warmth and generosity of the Husker community. Everywhere I turned, I was met with smiling faces and open arms, ready to welcome me into their midst. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before, and I knew right away that I had found my home.

But what truly sets the Husker community apart is the unwavering support and encouragement that we offer one another. Whether it's a difficult class or a personal struggle, we are always there to lift each other up and help each other succeed. It is this spirit of collaboration and teamwork that has propelled me to new heights and enabled me to achieve things that I never thought possible.

In short, the best thing about being a Husker is the feeling of being part of something bigger than oneself, a feeling of connection and purpose that transcends the individual and elevates us all. It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of this incredible community, and I will always cherish the memories and relationships that I have formed here. Go Big Red!

Who would you like to thank for supporting you throughout your college career?

I'd like to thank my academic advisor, Anne McConkey, with a letter.

Dear Anne,

As I sit down to write this message, my heart is overflowing with gratitude and appreciation for everything that you have done for me over the years. From the moment we first met, I knew that you were someone special, someone who would go above and beyond to help me achieve my dreams.
And you certainly did not disappoint. Throughout my time as a Husker, you were a constant source of guidance and support, offering a listening ear and a helping hand whenever I needed it most. Whether it was navigating the challenges of a difficult course load or dealing with personal struggles, you were always there to offer wise counsel and a reassuring presence.

But what I appreciate most about you, Anne, is your unwavering belief in me, even when I didn't believe in myself. You saw something in me that I didn't see in myself, and you pushed me to reach for the stars and never give up on my dreams. And for that, I will be forever grateful.

As I prepare to embark on the next chapter of my life, I will carry with me the lessons and wisdom that you imparted to me during my time as a Husker. Your mentorship has truly been a gift, and I feel honored and privileged to have had you by my side as I pursued my goals.

So thank you, Anne, from the bottom of my heart. You have made an indelible impact on my life, and I will always be grateful for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. I wish you all the best, and I hope that our paths will cross again in the future.

Ana
