Thursday, November 30, 2023 - 7:45am

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has named Megan Buffington as Chancellor's Scholar. Buffington is a journalism major from Pequot Lakes, Minnesota.

To be named a Chancellor's Scholar is the highest academic award the University offers, and recipients have maintained a 4.0 GPA in college classes at UNL and elsewhere.

"I'm thrilled to extend my warmest congratulations to Megan Buffington on this incredible achievement," said Shari Veil, dean of the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. "Your dedication and hard work have paid off, and I look forward to seeing what you achieve in the future."

The Chancellor's Scholars will be listed in the December 2023 Commencement program. Each scholar will receive a Chancellor's Scholar certificate with their diploma and a Chancellor's Scholar pin to wear on the ribbon of their medallion. The scholars will be seated together at the ceremony and receive their diplomas first.
