Brown inducted into Nebraska Women Journalists' Hall of Fame

Ruth Brown, emerita professor in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, was inducted into the Marian Andersen Nebraska Women Journalists’ Hall of Fame on April 27 at the Nebraska Press Women spring conference in Broken Bow. Brown was recognized for her 15 years of professional work, 23 years as a professor (15 at UNK and eight at UNL), and for creating and securing funding for the Hall of Fame, which is now in its ninth year. Her nomination stated, “Her lifetime of contributions to her profession and community, and her many achievements, are due to her creativity, tireless work ethic, skills and knowledge. Simply, she sees what needs to be done, and what can be done, and just does it, economically to boot.”
