Omaha Press Club honors 2021 winners

On Sept.18, 2021 the Omaha Press Club inducted professor emeritus Trina Creighton into the Omaha Press Club Hall of Fame and on Sept. 19, 2021 the winners of the 2021-2022 academic scholarship program were honored.

Why is registering during Priority Registration important?

Registering during priority registration helps you get the best schedule possible. It also helps departments understand how many students need certain courses. If you do not enroll in classes during priority registration, you could impact our decisions on cutting courses due to low enrollment which impacts you and your peers.

CoJMC student and alumna to speak at Nebraska Women’s Leadership Network Conference

This year’s Nebraska Women’s Leadership Network Conference takes place from Oct. 28 - Oct. 30. The event on Thursday, Oct. 28 is for students only, geared to give them the confidence to walk into a room and more easily network with professionals.

Fall 2021 graduate assistantships

The  College of Journalism and Mass Communications has 12 graduate assistants this fall. Graduate assistantships in the CoJMC are offered to promising scholars with an interest in gaining teaching, research or industry experience in their field. Graduate assistants serve as teaching or research assistants to accomplished faculty, teach in the college’s innovative Design Communication Program or work in strategic communications for an industry partner.

Google Tools training to be free for UNL students, faculty and staff

Five recent College of Journalism and Mass Communications graduates were selected to participate in the 2021-2022 Young Alumni Academy, hosted by the Nebraska Alumni Association.  

Hear from First Generation CoJMC alumna and Journalist Mekita Rivas

In partnership with First Generation Nebraska, the College of Journalism and Mass Communications (CoJMC) will be hosting alumna Mekita Rivas for a presentation to students on Nov. 10 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at The Agency (1420 P st.) as a part of First Gen Awareness Week. Rivas will speak about her experience as a first-generation student and now professional journalist.
