CoJMC has five finalists in National Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competition

 Broadcasting students Jeremy Davis, David Cluchey, and Zach Penrice, along with the spring semester broadcasting advanced reporting and advanced production classes are finalists in the National Undergraduate Student Electronic Media Competition.

A message from Dean Struthers

This calendar year is an important milestone for both UNL and CoJMC: 150th and 125th anniversaries coinciding in a grand celebration!

The original charter establishing our land-grant university was signed on February 15, 1869. 

And just 25 years later, the first journalism class was taught, spring semester 1894. We have been an important part of the “people’s university” for 125 years.

Two CoJMC students make top five in Hearst Multimedia competition

Two CoJMC students have been named top five finalists in the Hearst Multimedia I/Narrative Storytelling – Features Competition of the 2018-2019 Hearst Journalism Awards Program. There were 74 entries from 46 schools submitted in the first multimedia competition of the year.

PRSSA earns top honors at Paper Anvil Awards

 The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter took home top honors at the Paper Anvil Awards Jan. 23, earning Best of Show and nine other recognitions for the chapter’s public relations work in 2018.
