We had packed house over the weekend as alums traveled across the country to celebrate the life and legacy of Professor George Tuck. Speakers included CoJMC alums Jennifer Gutierrez (‘90), Mike Theiler (‘76), Julia Dean (‘92), Joel Sartore (‘85) and George and Mary Lynn’s dear friend Sherri Johnson. Open Position: Lab Assistant Student Worker

The College of Journalism and Mass Communications seeks student lab assistants to support students taking the communication design courses and the faculty teaching in the courses. Working with the Communication Design Coordinator, this position will answer student questions related to the hardware and software used in the communication design courses, assist faculty as needed with the communication design classes and projects, help maintain lab and classroom spaces including cleaning, and other duties as assigned. The position is up to 15 hours a week for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Michael Steven “Mike” Sweeney, emeritus professor of journalism at Ohio University and author of 25 academic and popular books, died on January 15, 2022, at his home in Athens, Ohio,  He was 63.
