Wendy Guillies, president and CEO of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, was honored as the 2022 CoJMC Alumni Master, during Masters Week from March 30 to April 1. Alumni Masters Week is a program sponsored by the Nebraska Alumni Association, the Student Alumni Association, and the UNL Chancellor's Office.

College of Journalism and Mass Communications students are starting a Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Chapter at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. An informational meeting for the chapter will be on April 6 from 4 to 5 p.m. in Andersen Hall Room 336 and is open to all broadcasting, sports media and journalism majors.

Sale of $4.65 million farmlands supports depth reporting at UNL's College of Journalism and Mass Communications

A Nebraska family that built its farmlands into a multi-million dollar enterprise near Hebron gifted the land to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications. The proceeds from the $4.65 million sale of the farmlands will establish the Deepe Family Endowed Chairs in Depth Reporting, ensuring the family's commitment to journalism, education and Nebraska.

Barmore and Barr place in Hearst Competitions

Abby Barmore placed fourth in the Hearst Journalism Awards Sports Writing Competition for her story, “If you can see it, you can be it: How Volleyball in Nebraska created a cycle of greatness.” Damon Barr placed seventeenth in the Hearst Multimedia III Competition for his entry, "Nebraska bill seeks to raise minimum wage to $20."

Andersen Hall moving to 24-hour NCard access

To ensure the safety and security of students, faculty and staff, Andersen Hall will be NCard access only beginning on Tuesday, March 22. Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., access will be granted to any University of Nebraska-Lincoln cardholder. After 7 p.m., access will be restricted to College of Journalism and Mass Communications majors, faculty and staff.
