Huskers place third in the National Student Advertising Competition

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's team placed third at the District 9 American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) held in Kansas City on April 19. The regional competitors come from colleges and universities in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. Seven schools competed at this year’s competition.

UNL Poker Club President Alec Rome develops plan to keep members safe during meetings

While the university has made changes to keep the campus community safe during classes this fall, clubs and other student organizations have created their own policies to allow safe socializing for students. One student club, the UNL Poker Club, has been developing and making plans in order to meet their club’s goals while also keeping its members safe.

UNL's newest club "The Circle" seeks to foster a sense of community on campus

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s newest Recognized Student Organization (RSO) is called The Circle. A group of students in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications (CoJMC) founded the club because they saw the need for raw and real conversations across UNL’s campus.

Wang and Jones selected for NGTC Faculty Fellows Program

Associate Professors Valerie Jones and Bryan Wang were selected to join the inaugural class or the Nebraska Governance and Technology Center Faculty Fellows Program.

The Nebraska Governance and Technology Center studies the ever-changing relationship between law and technology, how the law can regulate technology and how new technologies affect what the law can do.

Dear Alumni and Friends of CoJMC, Students are back on campus and the fall semester is officially underway! This semester is a little different with an array of class formats and everyone in masks, but you can still feel the energy and excitement of starting a new year throughout Andersen Hall. I am proud of our dedicated faculty and staff who have put in an incredible amount of time and effort planning and preparing for this fall.

A force in Nebraska's anti-abortion movement, Nebraska Right to Life Executive Director Julie Schmit-Albin, died Saturday following a prolonged illness, one day short of her 64th birthday. She graduated from the college in 1979 with a journalism degree.

Trina Creighton facilitates conversation about race with CoJMC students, faculty and staff

To Creighton, her social justice course is about helping her students see where they can fit in to make a better society and she feels so fulfilled in her teaching role when she hears them talking about being better citizens. Now Creighton is taking her tactics and applying them to the CoJMC faculty space.
