Huskers inducted into journalism honor society

Ten Huskers were inducted into Kappa Tau Alpha during a ceremony held on May 6 on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln city campus. Kappa Tau Alpha is a collegiate honor society that recognizes academic excellence and promotes scholarship in journalism and mass communication.

Membership must be earned through academic excellence. To be inducted, undergraduate students must have completed at least five semesters of work toward a degree in a journalism or mass communications program, must have completed at least nine semester hours in professional skills courses, must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater and must rank in the top ten percent of their class.

Kappa Tau Alpha is the seventh oldest national honor society, founded in 1910 at the University of Missouri. The society consists of 99 chapters and has inducted around 75,000 students since its founding.
