Frauke Hachtmann was invited to submit a book proposal in the AEJMC Peter Lang Scholarsourcing competition. The competition reimagines how scholarly books are proposed, peer-reviewed, and approved for contract during a time of relentless change in both the journalism and publishing industries.

Valerie Jones was interviewed by Taryn Vanderford at KOLN/KGIN 1011 News for her research study on using technology to ease loneliness. Can having a personalized routine with a device like “Alexa” by Amazon help manage pain? Jones plans to expand her research and begin working with researchers at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the University of Nebraska Medical Center this summer.

Laurie Lee and Maria Marron participated in panels at the 46th annual AEJMC Souteast Colloquium last week.  Laurie was a panelist for "Thunderdome 3: Prometheus v FCC" and Maria was a panelist for "That's Dr. Biden to You: Mentoring Female Scholars in the Age of Mediated Misogyny."

Maria Marron gave a Wall Street Journal webinar presentation on using the Wall Street Journal as a teaching resource.
