Jeremy Lohrman, from the University of Nebraska Foundation, has been appointed as the College of Journalism and Mass Communications new director of development.

Lohrman is looking forward to working with each of CoJMC’s supporters and helping advance the mission of the college and the university.

“The CoJMC has a deep history of tradition and philanthropy that has enriched the lives of so many individuals,” Lohrman said. “It’s truly remarkable to witness how “giving” establishes a real connection between a student and their donor. The relationship is symbiotic and both parties greatly benefit beyond the financial aspect.”

Lohrman can’t imagine working anywhere else because he’s constantly inspired by others' acts of generosity and the relationships formed throughout the process of giving.

“When you work alongside individuals who are personally vested in changing the lives of others through higher education it’s an easy decision to continue,” Lohrman said.

Lohrman grew up in a small rural community in the southwest corner of Nebraska. He considers himself a “nontraditional” student, he earned his bachelor's degree just before turning 29 years old.

He’s been married to his wife Tasha for 17 years, and they have three children — their two daughters Drew and London, and their youngest Oscar.
