Zac Franzen is the Alumni Relations and Events Coordinator at the Nebraska College of Journalism and Mass Communications. In this role since January 2023, Zac develops, coordinates, and evaluates programs that promote alumni relations, fostering connections between alumni and the college. His responsibilities include maintaining regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email, web pages, and social media, as well as researching and developing content for newsletters, print publications, social media programs, videos, and campaigns. Zac also plans, coordinates, and evaluates a variety of events, such as recruitment events, summer camps, outreach activities, interview days, orientation sessions, career and research fairs, end-of-year celebrations, and various networking events.

Before his current position, Zac served as an Event Coordinator at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from September 2021 to August 2022. In this role, he provided expertise in planning and implementing department activities and outreach efforts, ensuring attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Prior to that, Zac was the Coordinator of Events at the Lied Center from January 2020 to January 2021, where he managed various events, created contracts, negotiated agreements, and handled event budgets and logistics.

From June 2017 to December 2020, Zac was the Director of Events at The Delray Ballroom in Lincoln, Nebraska. He oversaw all pre-event communications, managed event contracts and bookings, designed event floor plans, and supervised event staff. Earlier in his career, Zac worked as a Store Manager at Scooter's Coffee, a Flight Attendant for American Airlines and Delta Air Lines, a Marketing Assistant at Denver Presents Inc., and a Social Service Worker at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
