Whitney Hansen is a part-time lecturer in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she shares her expertise in marketing strategy, brand building, and consumer insights. She earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2012.

Hansen currently serves as an account supervisor at Swanson Russell, where she leads marketing strategy and account planning for some of the agency's largest clients, managing annual budgets exceeding $5 million. She specializes in creating omni-channel marketing plans, fostering authentic brand connections, and driving successful campaigns within the outdoor recreation industry. Previously, as a senior account manager at Swanson Russell, she guided teams in developing innovative marketing campaigns and achieving key performance indicators.

Her professional experience also includes seven years as a marketing manager at Nelnet, where she directed strategies for corporate websites, brand repositioning, and direct marketing campaigns. Hansen is co-president of the American Marketing Association Lincoln, leading a team of volunteers to deliver award-winning programming and mentorship for marketing professionals.

Known for her ability to inspire and empower teams, Hansen is a passionate advocate for leveraging stories and connections to drive meaningful change in the marketing landscape.
