Steve Blum is a seasoned information technology professional with extensive experience in both academic and corporate settings. He currently serves as a Technical Consultant II at the University of Nebraska, a position he has held since May 2018. In this role, Steve is responsible for maintaining and supporting business and educational technology for students, staff, and faculty within the university.

Steve began his journey with the University of Nebraska in August 2015 as a Help Center Assistant/Associate, where he provided vital IT support and services. In 2017, he joined the College of Journalism and Mass Communications (CoJMC) and has been a key figure in ensuring the smooth operation of the college's technology infrastructure.

Prior to his tenure at the University of Nebraska, Steve co-owned Star City Enterprises, LLC from 2007 to 2012. There, he managed all aspects of the business, including sales, support, accounting, shipping, and receiving, specializing in retail sales of weather instruments and consumer electronics.

Steve also had a significant career at Allstate, where he worked for over eight years. He started as a Staff Policy Document Specialist, then progressed to a Senior Analyst/Analyst, and finally became a Manager. At Allstate, he supervised a team, wrote and presented performance reviews, documented staff performance issues, supported workflow and MS Office Suite software inquiries, and acted as a liaison between end users and technical support.

Steve graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor of General Studies degree with a concentration in Geography. He also holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Information Technology with a focus on networking from Southeast Community College.
