Sara Troupe graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences. Her early experiences working with students began at the K 12 level, where she spent several years teaching 7th-grade English in the Lincoln Public Schools district.

Currently, Sara serves as the academic navigator for the colleges of Journalism and Mass Communications, Fine and Performing Arts, and Architecture at UNL. In this role, she is available to meet with students who are struggling with any aspect of student life. She specializes in assisting students with academic skills such as time management, strategies for reading, note-taking, and test preparation.

As an academic navigator, Sara is dedicated to undergraduate persistence and degree completion, especially for historically underserved first-generation, low-income, and ethnic minority students. Her responsibilities include facilitating a case management model that provides triaging student concerns, collaborating with campus partners to facilitate communication and appropriate connections with resources, and proactively engaging with students identified by campus stakeholders. This includes responding to referrals made by faculty and staff across campus and using analytics and data to coordinate appropriate outreach and interventions using a variety of methods targeted at specific student populations.
