Ryan Hoffman is the managing editor at the Flatwater Free Press, Nebraska's first statewide independent nonprofit newsroom. In this role, he oversees several reporters and manages Flatwater's freelance program.

Before joining Flatwater, Hoffman served as the state/regional editor at the Omaha World-Herald, where he led a team of reporters covering state government, city hall, the military, and K-12 education. Earlier in his career, he worked as a reporter and editor at community newspapers across Nebraska, California, and Colorado.

Hoffman earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Cincinnati. He resides in Lincoln with his wife, who works at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and their twin boys. In his free time, Hoffman enjoys spending time with his family, exploring Lincoln's parks, and converting skeptics to the Cincinnati tradition of chili on spaghetti, a nod to his proud roots in the Queen City.
