Paul Schumacher is currently an adjunct instructor in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Schumacher has been teaching as an adjunct in the college intermittently since 2011. He initially taught the photography section of Visual Literacy, a course that later evolved into the current Visual Communications classes. In addition to these courses, he has also taught Journalism 306 and JGEN 184, focusing on photography and videography.
Since 2006, Schumacher has owned and operated his own photography studio in Lincoln, Nebraska. Alongside his work in photography and teaching, he has dedicated 23 years to coaching youth gymnastics.
Schumacher graduated from high school in 1999 and continued his education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism in 2007. He has been married to his wife, Brooke, since 2009, and they have two children, Grace and Wesley.
