Nicole Blackstock is the assistant to the dean at the Nebraska College of Journalism and Mass Communications, a role she has held since July 2017. In this position, she performs a variety of complex and high-level administrative support activities for the dean, including maintaining the dean’s calendar, serving as the point of contact for internal and external constituencies, making travel arrangements, responding to correspondence, submitting reimbursements, and coordinating committees chaired by the dean. Additionally, she serves as the college's building maintenance reporter, handling maintenance and building access requests.
Before her current role, Blackstock served as a clerical assistant at the Nebraska College of Journalism and Mass Communications from June 2013 to July 2017. She gained valuable experience in administrative tasks, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Blackstock's career began at Four Star Drug of Lincoln Nebraska Inc, where she worked as an assistant manager from June 2000 to August 2002, managing customer service operations. She then spent nearly 11 years at Dell as a senior customer service representative, honing her skills in customer service and standard operating procedures.
Blackstock holds an associate degree in business administration and management from Southeast Community College, where she was actively involved in the Student Advisory Board and served as the assistant manager of the cheer team. Her skills include merchandising and retail buying.
