Nathan He is a part-time lecturer in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He holds bachelor’s degrees in advertising and public relations and marketing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he graduated with honors, including Dean’s List recognition and membership in Alpha Delta Sigma and the American Marketing Association. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in journalism and mass communications with a focus on integrated media communications.
Nathan serves as the Marketing Content Manager at Nelnet, where he leads strategic content initiatives, develops data-informed marketing strategies, and enhances brand storytelling to drive engagement and business growth. His expertise spans marketing strategy, communication, advocacy, and community engagement.
A dedicated advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, Nathan was appointed as the first international immigrant with a Chinese background to serve as a commissioner for the Lincoln Commission on Human Rights. He is also the Director of Diversity and Inclusion on the Board of Directors for Star City Pride, where he works to create more inclusive spaces and opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community.
Previously, Nathan served as Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement at the Nebraska Alumni Association, where he managed programs and initiatives that fostered meaningful connections between alumni and the university community. His career also includes roles as a Marketing Data Analyst at Swanson Russell, where he developed insights-driven strategies, and Director of Communications for Girls Code Lincoln, where he led outreach and digital engagement initiatives. His diverse experience in digital marketing, web strategy, and community building showcases his ability to manage projects, build relationships, and execute impactful campaigns.
Nathan is passionate about giving back to the community and empowering individuals. Through his leadership, advocacy, and commitment to inclusive storytelling, he strives to uplift underrepresented voices, foster belonging, and inspire positive change.
