Maddie Hansen is a professional-in-residence at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Journalism and Mass Communications. She teaches students about motion design and animation.
Hansen is a motion designer at Performance Digital, a marketing agency in Omaha, and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2025. During her time at UNL, she was a Chancellor’s Scholar, Regents Scholar and member of the 2025 Homecoming Court. Hansen held leadership roles as an orientation leader, resident assistant, campus host and fraternity and sorority life ambassador. She was also a graphic design intern at Hudl and a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
She is the recipient of a Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award in the food/restaurant journalism category (2025), an Eric Sevareid Award for KRNU Student Election Night Coverage (2025) and two Creative Nebraska (ADDY) Awards, one in the magazine category (2024) and one in the animation or special effects category (2025).
Hansen holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and advertising and public relations from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
In her spare time, Hansen enjoys reading, lifting weights, riding rollercoasters, attending musicals and public speaking.
