Kelli Britten is an accomplished marketing and communications professional currently serving as the marketing project manager at Speedway Motors, Inc., a role she began in March 2024. Britten brings a wealth of experience to her position, where she leads marketing initiatives and drives strategic communication efforts.

Britten has a rich history of involvement in academia and the nonprofit sector. She served as an assistant professor of practice in advertising and public relations at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from August 2017 to January 2023. During her tenure, she developed and taught courses such as Event Planning for Branded Experiences + Activations and Keeping Up with the Kardashian Brand. Britten also advised the UNL Ad Club and the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) team, leading them to record levels of membership and fundraising.

In addition to her academic roles, Britten has held significant positions in various organizations. She was the chief communications officer for the City of Lincoln from January 2023 to March 2024 and an adjunct professor at Union College from August 2023 to December 2023. She has also contributed her expertise as the marketing manager for IAC Acoustics and as the director of marketing and special events for Junior Achievement.

Britten is deeply involved with the American Advertising Federation (AAF). She is currently the chairperson of AAF District 9, a position she has held since July 2023. Prior to this, she served as the governor of AAF District 9, overseeing the district's American Advertising Awards competition and supporting AAF clubs in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri.

In 2018, Britten founded Bright Spots Paper, a small business in Lincoln, Nebraska, dedicated to creating handmade paper goods designed to bring joy and laughter. Through Bright Spots Paper, she celebrates everyday moments and emphasizes the importance of personal connections.

Britten's career also includes roles such as marketing consultant at Pickering Creative Group and various positions at Greeley Publishing Company, including director of sales and marketing. Her extensive experience spans multiple sectors, including nonprofit programming, higher education, and private industry marketing.

Britten holds a master's degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Peru State College.

In her spare time, Britten enjoys DIY projects, talking about her dog Kevin, running her small business, and traveling. She and her husband are nearing the completion of their quest to tour all U.S. state capitol buildings, with only Alaska remaining.
