Kelley Peterson has a rich professional background with over 25 years of experience in marketing communications. She is the founder of Pen&Pug, where she offers freelance services in marketing strategy, creative writing and nonprofit consulting. In addition, Kelley serves as a faculty lecturer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, teaching strategic writing.

Her career includes extensive agency experience. Kelley worked at KidGlov for nearly 12 years, holding various positions such as chief creative officer, vice president, nonprofit creative director,\ and creative director, vice president. Before KidGlov, she was the vice president of marketing at Nebraska Children and Families Foundation, and she managed client accounts as an account manager at Swanson Russell. She also directed communications at CEDARS Home for Children and was vice president of account service at Communication Design.

Beyond her professional roles, Kelley has actively contributed to the marketing community through her volunteer service. She is a past president of the National Professional Chapters Council of the American Marketing Association and a past president of the Lincoln AMA. Her dedication to the field has earned her numerous accolades, including being named Lincoln AMA’s Marketer of the Year, being included in the Lincoln Business Journal’s 40 under 40 and being inducted into the Lincoln Marketing Hall of Fame.

Kelley holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She also holds Professional Certified Marketer (PCM) status through the American Marketing Association, underscoring her commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning.
