Brandon Aksamit is the director of sports content and a news reporter for News Channel Nebraska, where he leads the NCN Sports Now Team and covers the University of Nebraska and the Legislature. Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Aksamit earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December 2012.

Aksamit joined News Channel Nebraska in 2014 and has since become a versatile and respected figure in the industry. He has held various roles, including play-by-play announcer, sideline reporter, show host, producer, and director. His extensive experience spans professional, collegiate, and high school sports, with notable coverage for NET, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, the Lincoln Saltdogs, and the Nebraska Wesleyan Sports Network.

Before his current role, Aksamit worked as an on-air talent and multimedia specialist for Flood Communications and served as the news and sports director and evening news anchor for Columbus News Team and News Channel Nebraska. His ability to adapt and excel in different facets of sports broadcasting and news reporting has solidified his reputation as a skilled and dynamic professional.

In addition to his broadcasting career, Aksamit is an adjunct instructor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Since August 2021, he has taught various courses in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, including Broadcast Performance, Broadcast News Writing for Audio, Fundamentals of Editing and Reporting, Visual Communications, and Basic Business Communications.
