Amy Ort is an instructional designer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a role she has held since June 2019. In this position, Amy helps faculty improve the quality of their teaching by providing individual consultations on various aspects of instruction. She assists with developing assignments and tests, facilitating effective group work, offering feedback, and navigating challenges in using Canvas, the university's learning management system.
Before her current role, Amy was a visiting assistant professor of psychology at Nebraska Wesleyan University from August 2017 to June 2019. She also served as a visiting assistant professor of psychology at Centre College from August 2016 to June 2017, where she taught courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Research Methods, and Sensation & Perception.
Amy holds a Ph.D. in biopsychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, completed in 2015. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2008.
