Abbey Haymond is the assistant director of marketing at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has held this position since 2024, overseeing the alignment of messaging for the Academic Services and Enrollment Management division, managing marketing communications and coordinating with her team to ensure efficient project completion. Haymond also serves as a lecturer at the university, where she has taught JOMC 131 visual communications courses and assisted with instructing the SPMC 150 sports media course since 2022.
Previously, Haymond was a marketing & development intern at the University of Nebraska Foundation in 2023. During this time, she partnered with the College of Engineering to conduct research and create marketing materials showcasing donor impact. Haymond also worked with Husker Athletics, Jacht Advertising agency and Lancaster Event Center during her undergraduate education, where she graduated with honors and highest distinction.
Haymond holds a Master of Arts in Integrated Media Communications from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, completed in 2024. As a graduate assistant, she was involved with the Graduate Student Assembly, Big Brothers Big Sisters and helped lead the college's experiential lab program. She also earned a Bachelor of Journalism in Sports Media & Communication and Advertising & Public Relations from the same university in 2022.
Haymond aspires to continue contributing to the marketing efforts of higher education or transition into a sports marketing role.
