Victoria Ayotte Brown is a 1991 graduate of the College of Journalism. She is now volunteering as a Professional in Residence in the Experience Lab and works full time as a senior producer and digital specialist on the Lee Enterprises National Desk.

Victoria landed at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times when she graduated, becoming Sunday editor and interim news editor during her three years at the newspaper. She joined the universal desk at the Orlando Sentinel in 1994 and quickly became the Sunday A1 designer, then copy chief-design and associate presentation editor-planning during her seven years in Orlando.

Victoria moved back to Nebraska after her daughter was born and joined the Lincoln Journal Star in 2002. She became presentation editor, then interactivity editor. That job had her monitoring story comments, selecting and editing community columnists and joining the editorial board. The job also came with managing the burgeoning social media accounts of the LJS.

After seven years, Victoria became online editor of the Journal Star, selecting where and when articles go online as well as writing headlines, selecting visuals and writing breaking news briefs on occasion. She then became Nebraska digital editor, sending stories from the Omaha World Herald, Journal Star and other Lee properties to the other websites in Nebraska.

The role of Nebraska digital editor led to Victoria's selection as Midwest digital editor, a corporate position managing content sharing in Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin. After a year and a corporate reorganization, Victoria joined the new Engagement and Resources team at corporate, later renamed the Strategic Content Support team. This team focused on growing digital skills and training journalists on maximizing digital presentation opportunities, SEO and video.

This year, Victoria's strength in news judgment and editing led to her becoming a senior member of the Lee National Desk, which shares state and regional content as well as national content.

1991, Bachelor of Journalism, University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism

Victoria is an avid reader, history buff and volleyball fan. She has a college-age daughter, Cassie, who is a senior in the UNL College of Journalism.
