Josh Warner, a senior majoring in sports media and communication and advertising and public relations, has been selected as a finalist for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s 2025 homecoming royalty.

Warner, of Salina, Kansas, is the only student from the College of Journalism and Mass Communications to be named a finalist. On campus, he serves as a New Student Enrollment orientation leader, helping incoming Huskers transition to life at UNL. He is also an ambassador for the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, giving tours and supporting student recruitment efforts.

In addition to his leadership roles, Warner works on the video staff for Husker Athletics, filming and editing football practices and games for coaches and players. He also contributes his skills in marketing and design as the marketing chair for Bathtub Dogs, UNL’s premier all-male a cappella group.

The homecoming royalty winners will be elected by the student body in an online vote Oct. 1 and 2. They will be crowned Oct. 4 at halftime of the Nebraska–Michigan State football game, which kicks off at 3 p.m. in Memorial Stadium.
