The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s founding chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists will host a destress event in Andersen Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 6-9 p.m.
The campus chapter will provide games, snacks and a space to study or hang out with fellow students during the second-to-last week of the semester. Students are welcome to come and go on the first floor of Andersen Hall on Tuesday night.
The UNL SPJ executive team is also working to arrange for an industry professional to join for part of the night. The guest speaker would be able to join students and answer any questions or concerns students may have before they leave the College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Final details will be announced on the UNL SPJ social accounts on Twitter and Instagram.
Over the winter break, UNL SPJ executives will finalize the process to become an official SPJ chapter and recognized student organization. Meetings will resume in 2023 and students who want to be more involved can reach out to any executive for more information.
Questions may be directed to UNL SPJ President Zach Wendling or UNL SPJ Vice President Rebecca Heckel.
