LINCOLN, Neb. -- The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter received the 2020 Star Chapter Award from PRSSA National. This award is distributed to Chapters who exhibit a commitment to leadership and growth.

The award also requires Chapters to meet at least eight of 11 requirements from a list including community service work, attendance to PRSSA’s international conference and outreach to high school students. Chapters of any size are eligible to apply for the award. The standards for the Star Chapter Award are determined by Chapter-specific professional development goals.

PRSSA National encourages Chapters to provide programming and relationship-building opportunities for students. The award is considered the “gold standard” for Chapters trying to achieve excellence.

Chapter President, Lauren Tritch, is humbled by the award as this marks the fifth consecutive year the Chapter has received the honor. “Our Chapter’s members have continuously held each other to high standards, so I’m thrilled to know our efforts are being recognized, especially as we’ve had to shift and adapt our Chapter plans due to the pandemic. It shows how dedicated and perseverant our PRSSA members truly are. I’m so proud of everyone.”
