Monday, August 2, 2021 - 2:15pm

We are proud to announce that UNL PRSSA has received the 2021 PRSSA National Star Chapter Award. The Star Chapter Award recognizes a PRSSA Chapter’s leadership in providing programming and relationship building opportunities on its campus. With this Star Chapter Award, UNL PRSSA continues to cement itself as a part of the gold standard for PRSSA Chapters trying to achieve excellence.

To achieve Star Chapter recognition from PRSSA National, UNL PRSSA had to achieve at least eight of the 11 requirements, all of which are screened meticulously. Some of those categories include: community service, attendance to PRSSA’s international conference, and community outreach.

“I am incredibly proud of the resilience and innovation of our chapter. Through a global pandemic, the students found creative ways to overcome the challenge of making meaningful connections within an online environment, while balancing all of the other priorities that come with being a student.  Our PRSSA students were able to exemplify outstanding leadership and provide an entire academic year of professional development and outstanding programming. I could not be more impressed, and I am thankful the Chapter continues to be recognized as a Star Chapter on a national level,” said faculty advisor Jemalyn Griffin.

UNL PRSSA Chapter President Ashleigh Kawaoka is elated as well. “I am so proud of the work our chapter members have accomplished. They are truly passionate about what they do and continuously amaze me with their dedication to advance our chapter on a professional and personal level. It was a joint effort and we are thankful to our mentors, alumni, and faculty advisor for their unwavering support.”

UNL PRSSA is proud to continue striving for the highest standards of the Public Relations Student Society of America and represent the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on a national scale.
